Following a reverse takeover, how do I engage a new set of investors with our story?

Create a simple website that articulates it clearly and brings it to life.

Challenge

Following a reverse takeover of HPE Software on 1 September 2017, Micro Focus, a software infrastructure company, became the seventh largest software company in the world – and the largest technology company listed on the FTSE.

In preparation for the merger, we were asked to create a new responsive site that would be the first point of contact for new and potential investors wanting to find out more information about the company. As a result of the merger, the Group’s staff numbers have quadrupled and HPE shareholders now own 50.1% of the company.

Action

We created a simple structure so that users unfamiliar with Micro Focus could easily find the information they needed about the company. This includes some interactive charts to bring the product portfolio page to life and to provide a straightforward explanation of the company’s primary focus and how the portfolio is managed.

The site was built using the Umbraco Content Management System, allowing site content, documents, news and announcements and video to be updated immediately and very easily.

Impact

A straightforward and intuitive structure, key landing pages, modular teasers and clear calls to action help to guide users to information quickly, ensuring clear user journeys and ease of use.

On Friday, 1st September 2017, Micro Focus Group rang the bell to open the New York Stock Exchange and announced the completion of the deal. The website was pushed live in conjunction with this announcement and received over 800% more traffic in the first 24 hours than the daily average in 2017. In its first seven days the investor site was accessed by over 5,000 individuals in more than 50 countries.
