Aperam is a global stainless steel manufacturer, listed on the stock exchanges of Amsterdam, Paris, Luxembourg and New York.
Sustainability lies at the heart of the company and it is committed to acting responsibly, with respect to the health, safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and the communities in which it operates. Aperam wants to be a leader in sustainability within its sector. It works hard to define KPIs and measure impact, following GRI G4 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines.
Aperam’s ambition for the report was to show the progress they are making in becoming a more sustainable and profitable company.
We considered their values and realised that they were the kind of words that could translate easily into a clear brief for designers and writers.
Bold, Agile and Ingenious set a framework for both the style and content of the report. We used these words to give it a distinct flavour i.e. bold statements and colours, agile graphics and photography and ingenious ways of joining up the story. In terms of the overall theme, Made for Life allowed us to focus on the vital role stainless steel plays every day (it literally lasts a lifetime) and also on the way Aperam manages its business sustainably.
We recommended a new structure for the story and we interviewed key personnel, sourced content and drafted the copy.
We created a clearer and more structured way of presenting the report and quotations from people inside and outside the company added personality and credibility.
