Unsurprisingly this month has been dominated by Covid-19. Last month saw the launch of the C-19 Business Pledge. 300 global organisations have already signed the Pledge, which aims to harness the power of business as a force for good in tackling the coronavirus pandemic with pledges focused on employees, customers and communities.

The FRC continues to provide support and guidance to companies grappling with how to best meet governance and reporting requirements across a number of areas including AGMs, interim reports, exceptional items and alternative performance measures. PwC has also released its guide on reporting on the impact of Covid-19. The FRC has also been busy implementing the recommendations of the Kingman and Brydon Reviews and issued their latest update on their transformation programme.

In this week’s best practice showcase, our Director of Sustainability, Lynn Dickinson, reviews education publisher Pearson’s 2019 annual report, focusing on how sustainability content can be successfully integrated into a report.
