Gather Around – Issue 29 – January 2022

2 February 2022

The regulatory landscape is complex and evolving. Every month we bring you the latest developments in regulation and ‘best practice’ in corporate governance and reporting.

The new year sees the FRC’s latest update on its transition to new body ARGA, with the regulator publishing its three-year plan and budget for consultation. The FCA has provided an update on ESEF, with its latest Handbook Notice making clear which ESEF taxonomies will be permitted for 2021 annual reports.

As is now tradition, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink has published his annual letter to CEOs setting out the investment firm’s expectations for companies in 2022. Not to be left out, Aviva Investors has also released a similar public letter to company chairs. Meanwhile, GRI has released a study this month, looking into whether companies making SDG commitments are following up with effective action.

This month the best practice showcase makes way for a project showcase, demonstrating our work with SSP Group to tell a stakeholder-focused story for their 2021 annual report.
