QCA Annual Dinner

Held at the Savoy Hotel in the famous Lancaster suite, this year’s QCA celebration was one to remember. Adam McConkey, Chair of the QCA acknowledged the collective resilience and perseverance that has been required during COVID and detailed the important role members have played and continue to play, in developing and strengthening our economy which contributes to a much wider impact on wealth creation, economic prosperity and social progress.

Marcus Stuttard, Head of AIM, also gave a speech praising the efforts of members particularly given the sheer number of IPO’s this year – far exceeding 2020. Marcus is leader of policy changes such as the abolition of stamp duty on the trading of shares admitted to Recognised Growth Markets such as AIM and the approval of AIM as the leading European SME Growth Market, a categorisation created in MiFID II.

The evening was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the industry, colleagues, and clients alike and celebrate the hard work to date. Guests were treated to Dorset Crab, Rhug Estate Venison, or the alternative Wild Mushroom Pithivier, and Gianduja dessert, washed down with Sauvignon or Malbec. And, dinner was accompanied by a thrilling talk from Mandy Hickson – the inspirational and pioneering female fighter pilot and author of “An Officer, Not a Gentleman”.
