The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and capable Research Associate to join our team in the delivery of annual reports across print and digital for our FTSE listed, AIM listed and large private clients. You will support our senior consultants in delivering their fee earning work, and new business and marketing activity. We are looking for an accomplished researcher with a keen interest in corporate communications and an ambition and ability to grow into a client-facing reporting consultant. You will be researching new and emerging reporting, sustainability and governance regulations as well as monitoring trends in best practice for annual and sustainability reports, both printed and digital. With a natural aptitude for corporate communications, you are able to distinguish coherent and compelling corporate narrative, from meaningless boilerplate reporting. A highly organised but flexible team player who enjoys working in a busy and dynamic agency environment, you will also play a significant role in originating our informative and thoughtful marketing collateral and undertaking research for new business pitches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake research to support the fee earning work of our senior consultants on reporting, governance and sustainability regulations and best practice in printed and digital annual and sustainability reports.
  • Proactively monitor developments in regulation and best practice trends and ensure the business is kept informed and up to date.
  • Maintain our ‘best practice’ library continually refreshing it with examples of good practice and interesting and new ways of approaching reporting.
  • Originate informative and thoughtful marketing collateral, including short articles for our website, thought leadership and best practice papers, and our monthly client facing regulatory and best practice newsletter, Gather Around.
  • Undertake research to support our new business activity, providing background information and insights to inform proposals and pitches.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • A track record in qualitative research, with the ability to undertake self-directed research, assimilate information to draw out key findings and insights.
  • Some knowledge of corporate communications is preferred but not essential, however you must be able to demonstrate a passion for and interest in good corporate communications.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging reporting, sustainability and governance regulations and best practice in annual and corporate reporting for premium-listed companies is preferred but not essential, however you must be able to demonstrate a strong interest in the subject and the ability and willingness to learn quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Efficient and organised, a strong client service ethic
  • A can-do attitude, flexible and positive, a team player
  • An insatiable appetite to learn and grow
  • A desire to be the very best you can be
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, Keynote knowledge an advantage
  • Experience of originating marketing collateral an advantage
